Red Wok Kajang/Bangi

Now that I am a temporary SAHM, me and Tebby spend less time together, the 'just-us' time. When I was working, we usually had our breakfast together and occasionally lunch. Friday was the 'groceries-day' which later we had quiet dinner together before heading home. We love our kids to bits but after years of marriage we decided that we need to have some 'just-us' time. Just like we need 'abah-ummi-kids' time.

We have 'pasar Kajang' time together. So un-romantic is may sound but doesn't dating means doing something we like in common? Plus, it's like killing two birds with one stone. Dating, and all the provision is done for.

And recently we started dating back on regular basis on Friday night. No good movies to catch up, we ended up on good food. After three weeks in a row of Saba Restaurant (read here and here), we tried out new place earlier today. Red Wok in Bangi. We acccidently saw this place en-route back home from Saba the other day (while being sesat sebenarnya). Tried out thier Korean Sizzling Steamboat (grill+steamboat). They have Steamboat alone as well. Met Tebby's friends there and they recommended ala carte as well. Maybe next time, InsyaAllah.

Saba (Again)

Okay-okay. This is actually 3rd week in a row we went to Saba Cyberjaya. I dunno what they've put in their cooking but I am totally addicted. Even the rice alone is yummeh enuff to be eaten on its own (chewah, cam iklan roti gardenia lah pulak). We need to give this a break for a while before we become mascot of Saba nanti ha ha.

Since I did not post anything on my 2nd visit (read my 1st visit, here), I'll just do it here. En Suami had Lamb Hanith (again). I thought of trying something with 2 legs, I ordered a chicken dish (Chicken Khabsah). So tamak that we were (*cough* actually it was En Suami), we ordered 1/2 chicken. We should have ordered the chicken only. What we got were, 1/2 chicken and plateful (a big one that was) of rice to go with that 1/2 chicken. For the lady that was. The lady was me. The verdict? Between Lamb Hanith and Chicken Khabsah, I'll go for the lamb.

But, albeit my earlier statement of preferring the lamb over chicken, I still fell for chicken on our 3rd visit. En Suami ordered Lamb Khabsah while I had Grilled Chicken (lama wei depa nak grill, terpaksa ai *cough* tumpang kasih makan nasi En Suami jugak, while waiting *cough*) Oh, we even had 1/2 Khabsah chicken in the middle. Actually I wanted to order liver but En Suami dengan tangkasnya order itu Khabsah chicken dulu. Well, as revenge, I had rice pudding, all for myself. Even tho ai pun makan jugak ayam Khabsah kontroversi tu.

On the way back, tersangkut dalam jem depan Jusco Cheras Selatan. Ada J Card day and people were still arriving even after 10! It took us more than 10 minutes to get home when it's usually a mere 2-3 minutes drive only. Nasib baik perut ai kenyang dan ai dah shopping awal-awal sebelah pagi tadi so ai tak bengang sangat.

Oh ya peeps, I am slowly gaining back all the weight loss sepanjang ai jadi TSAHM nih. Thanks to Saba.

Restoren Saba, Cyberjaya

Alhamdulillah. For the good meal Allah bestowed upon us tonight.

Tebby had a meeting in Cyberjaya few days back, and had lunch afterward in Restoren Saba in Cyberjaya itself. The food was good that he told his boss, he'd be of guilt until he brings me there. You'd better be!

So, he's officially guilt-free tonight. We've just came back from good, delicioux, fulfilling dinner that I told myself I need to do extra rounds of jogging next week. Obviously I over ate (wot's new nway?) Why not this weekend? Well, for one, tomorrow will be my pasar day and Bibik is taking a leave this weekend. I can't jog peacefully with three 'handbags' in tow right? Next week then. Remind me please, of that extra rounds.

Lamb Hanith. We ordered size L and shared this between me and Encik Amsterdam. The rice itself pun sedap that you can eat it on its own. The lamb, tho rich in bau kambing, sangat sedap jugak. So moist and tender that when you dip your fork in it, berlerai lerai daging from tulang. Ya, go on, drool. Memang sedap. This dish, Encik Amsterdam makan lagi banyak dari I.

Ini pulak Lamb Kebab. Sedap jugak. The meat is moist and flavourful. Actually it came with two strips of kebab tapi syok makan punya pasal, dah tinggal seketul baru teringat nak ambik gambar bagai. This, I ate almost all. Fair.

Encik Amsterdam minum air Barbarian ehh.. Barbican ni ha. He had 2 servings of this. I don't like it tho. Too gassy. I settled for something more 'regular' - fresh orange (ops! minum ais di malam hari, not good)

Last but not least, for dessert (ngada-ngada pulak malam ni, nak ber dessert-dessert bagai), I had Chocolate Pudding. The taste is just right, rich in chocolate taste but not overwhelmingly sweet. Served cold. (argghhh, sejuk lagi). I had meant *cough* *cough* to eat just a small portion and bring back some for Kakak but before I knew it *cough* *cough*, all is gone. This I had all for myself. Not fair huh?

That is me in my newly purchased blue-white checkered shirt and my not-so-newly acquired double chin. And zit mark. *sigh*

Date Night - Inception

Went dating last night. Tengok wayang cerita Inception (official web here, info from wiki here). It's about going into someone's dream and steal thoughts or planting ideas into someone's head. Umpama mimpi dalam mimpi lah nih. The last part was, as always, leaves us thinking (and then comes part 2 pulok la kan).

The show started at 10.30p.m and ended at about 1.00a.m. My hp plak takde battery, nasib baik terjaga jam 6.30a.m pagi tadi. Lepas tengok Inception, buat inception sendiri sampai tak sedor hari dah siang!

Khamis Yang Indah

Semalam ambik cuti. Takde apa-apa significant nak buat pon, except Tebby bayar duit keta and me sent watches for servicing. Heh, bunyi cam le mahal sangat jam-jam tu kan. Thing is, ada yang dah berzaman jarum tak bergerak-gerak. Tak tau le kot-kot dah rosak. Out of 5, 2 leaked battery already. One gone case, tak boleh diselamatkan. One sent for tukar cermin pasal ada chip kat tepi nun. And I got meself a sports watch. Ala, dengan nama lain, jam pelestik.. seswai nak bawak berlasak-lasak pi jogging ke hapa kan. I asked, boleh masuk air ke? Uhh kalau masuk air, rosak lah tapi boleh masuk dalam air. Loyar buruk lah pulak. I got a BUM watch for RM90. Sebenarnya, asalnya rasa gatei nak beli Baby-G shocking pink.... apakah? Tapi En Tebby dengan berhemah suh beli hak RM90 itu saja. Thanks Yang for bringing me back into reality heh heh.

Car loan paid, watches serviced, perut pulak kasi isi sikit. Makan kat Tony Roma. This time I rate them at 2/5 only. Why? My steak medallion, as the name implies, should look like medals but I got something flat and, well, they did not resemble any kind of medals or medallion at all. Medallion kena pijak maybe. But I had to complement their greens. Salad that comes on un-necessarily big bowl (for a not-so-green person like me) but the taste was nice anyway. Tebby had some kind of chicken which didn't go well with his tastebud. I ordered old fashion lemonade, thinking it would be like the one I made at home but I got lemon soaked in soda. Perit tekak makcik okay. Next time I'd better ask for their modern version of lemonade, who knows I may get like the one I made at home heh heh. If you don't get it, I'm being sarcastic okay.

After Tony Roma, MPH we go. Well, I did. Tebby went to Comic Mart to get his dose of comics.. err... he puts them as graphic novels. That way, I can browse without having him breathing over my shoulder and he, me. I got meself 3 books and some bookmarks (FYI, I don't dog-ear my books and I respect books, so bookmarks will come handy)

ps - those bookmarks dah jadi the kids' toys in no time.. sigh..

Selamat Hari Wilayah!

We had planned a-not-so-small-and-yet-not-so-big purchase today but had to cancel it due to health problem. Instead we made several small purchases, at least by me, who else?

Fret not my friends for all that I bought are considered essentials or necessities.

We checked out GRAMEDIA bookstore in Mines Shopping Fair and I found interesting KUMON workbooks (and bought some for Iman), catchy color museum hardcover baby books (and got some for Adam, as well as for Iman), a book on Mars for Kakak (I had to be fair to everyone okay) and 2 sequels of Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney (I had to be fair to myself as well) and some stationeries as well. I need something decent to put down my signature with. Not that I am someone of utmost importance anyway ha ha. But a girl can dream on kan kan kan.

Of Exercising & Re-Fuelling (with Nasi Minyak some more ha!)

Masih bersemangat. Woke Tebby up for Subuh and at 7.00am we started stretching, warming up and had a round of brisk walk until we sweat a bit. This time is was just around our housing area. Then we started running and only after like 5 or 10 minutes, I decided my legs could not cope with running so I walked. Fast. Tebby continued on running. I made like 3 rounds of fast walking and by the time I reached my gate, I was sweating like mad. It turned out that Tebby was looking for me so I just continued on playing with the kids, who were minding our little garden at that time.

After light brekkie (so light that Iman refused to eat anything, dia dah biasa heavy breakfast), terus started preparing Nasi Minyak. Semalam pegi pasar, we bought tulang rusuk with lots of meat still attached untuk lauk Nasi Minyak. You see, in the family which Tebby grew up in, Nasi Minyak can be dished out on any day of the year. Tak perlu tunggu raya or ada kenduri kawin. If they feel like it, it is then. This, flowed over to our nucleous family pulak. Funny thing is, since I started preparing early, we had our lunch at barely 11.30am! By 3.00pm, we were scrambling for something to eat! Dah lapor babe. Iman, telah makan Nasi Minyak itu, 1+3 uolss! 3 kali tambah, which is almost equivalent to 2 adult servings. Tak sia-sia Ummi masak. Of course under close supervision of En Tebby ha ha ha. Anyway, sorry peeps, no photos. Acik sebok makan. Sedor-sedor nasi dah habis :P

And know what, after 2 days of running (well err... walking), I think I am demam already... Tebby did mentioned tadi that next week we're going running again. Urghhh...

Kasut Baru... Yeayyy..

Yezza.. Those are my Reebok Trail Burst and his Fuego. Our brand new running shoes. Tebby has always been exercising i.e. running and this pair is his I-lost-count-already-th running shoes. Mine is to replace the one I bought when I was still in my uni days. Lama giler kan. In fact, I have stopped exercising altogether since aeons ago. The last time maybe when Kakak was under 2. Since then, I have made numerous attempt to start again, in groups. Being young (masa tu lah), we then got pregnant after one another, sudahnya tak start jugaklah our gym thingy.

Now that I huff and puff during my naik-bukit-nak-ke-opis or merely while walking back after lunch, my waistline consistently between 28-29 and I often feel like my heart is bursting during brisk walks, I bought these. Well, err... actually I asked Tebby to pay up. He is always been supportive about me getting some exercise, he paid up (he lost a bet in our silly mathematical games.. but I think it was more like he let me won kot) and even helped me in choosing and deciding which to buy. For once, I felt like a school-going girl whose school shoes are chosen and decided for. Only in my case, I had some power to skew his desicion into something of my liking.

Anyway.

Having paid for these, kenalah Kak Mon proof to him I-am-not-merely-buying these kan. So tadi, at 7.00am we went out to Lake Valley and had brisk walk and later running and then back to walk again. In my case, there was so much walks in between the running! Kasi can lah. This is my first run after what, 7 years? The weather was good. The sun was not high yet and it was breezy. We spent an hour there and by the end of it, I was soaking in sweat. Penat wei!! And Tebby, as always, commented on how I should run and how my hands should be positioned and moved. That's what happened when your husband is a superior. Althought his territory is elsewhere, I can't help feeling like a subodinate at times ha ha.

After that, we headed to Pasar Sungei Besi for some provision and had a bowl-full of kuetiaw sup special. Tebby ordered one without togeh and pedal. Mine was taruk semua ha ha ha.

Calming Dinner For Two

I had a relatively calm week. Tebby did not. Balik tadi singgah Bangsar South for a lil bit of provision and dinner. We always spare sometime on Friday, after work for dating! Dating, should not stop once you're married, kan.

We had comfort food. I had Baised Beef Claypot while Tebby had 3 Treasures. Both were soupy, not forgetting yummy as well.

Hope next week's gonna be good ones for both of us.

Last Entry 2009

End of 2009. How time flew, before I knew it, it is 31st December again. I am actually on leave but need to come to the office to settle few urgent matters PLUS, to pick up items my frens helped me buying. USANA Essentials & Proflavanol and tudung hanger from IKEA.

Ada 28 slot u olsss. Apakah ini bermakna salah satu resolution Kak Mon ialah mendapatkan 28 tudung baru? Oh nooooo!!!

Tebby took a 1/2 day off and we went to MidValley to date and to shop, to eat and to indulge. We're planning a small BBQ treat within our nucleous family. BBQ pit from Ace, beef, lamb, chicken, prawns from Carrefour. After loading the loot in the car (which we had tough time to find a parking bay), proceeded to Borders for some books. Tebby found none while I, who never fail to drain my money anyway, bought 2 books. Cook books to be exact. After Borders, we had coffee, toast and cheong fun. Bought Durian Pancake as well, much to Tebby's irritation he he. FYI, he doesn't like the smell, let alone eating it.

What do I think of 2009? I have a few thing to jot down. Esok ya.. Malam ni saya busy mem-prepare bahan-bahan untuk BBQ. Entry BBQ pon esok ya...

Dating - The Storm Warrior

Adoiyaiii.. bukan anak dara je tak elok berembun dek non oii. Mak dara ponn tak elok. Malam semalam pi tengok The Storm Warrior kat TGV belakang rumah Kak Mon ni ha. Tengok midnight kekdahnya. Bukannya nak sangat midnight bagai tapi kena tunggu anak-anak dah settle down i.e. dah tidur, baru boleh keluar. Book love-seat, nak duduk ala-ala manja le konon.

Show habis dekat kol 2.00 pagi. Pas solat Subuh, tak larat nak masak, nak makan atau nak buat apa-apa ponn.. nak barinnnggggg je manjang....

Cerita tu tak seperti ku jangka. Tak mencapai level yang ku harapkan. Plus plotnya agak serabut sikit. Pastu banyak plak 'lawan ala batin' ni. Kalau dihayun-hayun tangan, makanya beribu-ribu pedang berhayun sama. Kalau dihayunkan pedang, makanya pecah le batu-batu kat keliling kawasan tu walopun warriornya statik saja. Kuasa batin tahap tertinggi le kot.

Nasib baik hero-heronya boleh tahan hensem..
