Jom Kari!

Semangat makan waktu di rumah full-time memang lain kalau dibandingkan dengan semangat makan waktu bekerja. Contrary to the popular belief, di rumah kadang-kadang lagi huru hara, nak makan bersedap-sedapan tak berapa nak sempat. Kadang-kadang nak breakfast tapi sebok dengan anak nak mandinya, nak ceboknya, bergaduhnya etc, terus jadi brunch. Kadang-kadang cadang nak lunch lepas hantar anak pi sekolah.. tup-tup balik rumah terlelap, terus tak lunch. Masak dinner terus. I lost 5 kg during that one year.

Waktu dipejabat, anda ada proper timing untuk makan dan minum. Sampai ofis jam 7.30 pagi, boleh minum kopi dengan nasi lemak (tanpa perlu berhenti untuk mencebok anak yang poo-poo), waktu rehat tengahari boleh makan dengan aman kat kedai Latip (tanpa perlu tension-tension anak-anak bergaduh sampai tertepis air manis kat meja makan lalu tumpah..) Kalau ada masa lebih-lebih, boleh makan pisang goreng pulak. Paling buat saya ‘terharu’, ofis saya menyediakan spot ala-ala ‘kantin’ menjual jajan! Siap dengan premix hot drinks. Heaven bukan.

Ni saya bagi satu contoh lunch last week. Lunch dengan En Suami di Bangsar. Sapa tak tau kari-kepala-ikan-bawah-pokok? I bet most of us yang kerja kat T* Menara / Annexe sure tau. Sedapnya hingga ramai yang sanggup ambik risiko kena berak burung (it’s an open air gerai, banyak pulak pokok-pokok kat situ, termasuk beburung yang dok kat pokok-pokok tu) termasuk saya :D

Ni adalah kari kepala ikan. Ikan merah. Malangnya pada hari kejadian takde yang kecik. Yang ni lebih kurang sebesar kertas A4. Eh, malang ke? Habis kena bedal sampai tinggal tulang aje. Walaupun upon its arrival, terus aje ‘kalau tak habis, kita bungkus’. Ya lah tu.. bungkus lah sangat.. bungkus dalam perut.

Kepala ni RM50.00. In addition to that, kami order sotong goreng 2 ekor, ikan cencaru goreng 2 ekor, sepinggan taugeh, 3 pinggan nasi (saya makan sepinggan ajer, sila tuduh orang lain) dan 2 gelas teh-o-ais-limau.

Puas hati. Sedap. Kenyang. Tangan pun bau kari sampai ke malam despite dibasuh dengan sabun 2-3 kali. Total lunch hari tu was RM65. En Suami hulur 2 keping no RM50. Tokey kata takpelah, bayar RM50 ajer pasal dia takde small change. Lain-lain halaaaaaaaaalll! Maknanya kami cuma bayar kari kepala ikan tu aje, the rest FOC! Moga Allah murahkan lagi rezeki mereka.

Professor-ToysRUs-MPH-Chilli

Amboi Kak Mon. Makin takde Bibik, makin kencang mem-blog yer.

Hari ni melabur kat Professor MidValley. Sapa-sapa yang ada anak bersekolah tentu fimiliar dengan brand name uniform Professor ni kan. Untuk sekolah rendah, menengah, sekolah kebangsaan, KAFA, ko-kurikulum, semua ada. Kasut sekolah aje takde jual. For Kakak just 4 kurung tops. She still has the past years tops yang masih elok lagi (reason why I prefer Professor, memang tahan lama). For Iman 5 white shirts and 3 pants. Each got 6 pairs of socks (jual in pack of 3). Kchengggg... almost RM500. Anakanda sekelian, belajar baik-baik ya. Abah dah sediakan yang terbaik untuk anak-anak semua. Oh btw, I don't like Professor's sarong tho. The kind yang ada zip tu. Kakak suka kain yang getah keliling pinggang so that one I go for Jusco's Alpha Kids.. something like that lah namanya.

After Professor, singgah kat Toys R Us, further damage to Abah's wallet. Iman beli transformers hak kenit-kenit tu. In a pack, dapat 4 biji. Adam pulak mana boleh kalah, he picked a red Power Rangers. Kakak, beli Crystal Growing Kit. I am interested how Kakak's project will turn out tapi belum ada kesempatan nak buat.

Then adjhoured to MPH cari stationeries. Kat rumah dah ada sikit-sikit, just nak top up je. Too bad takde jual in bulk. I normally buy a box of 12, a pack of 6 and the likes. Next time must go to Jusco ke, Popular ke. Oh ya, some useless point, my favourite stationery brand is Faber Castell but for crayon, I prefer Buncho above else.

For lunch, we ate at Chilli. I had meant to belanja for lunch but En Tebby gave a smile. Yelah, kalau ai belanja pon, guna duit dia jugak kan. Time bil sampai tu buat-buat bizi korek beg duit jugak.. eh, tak cukup pulak :P. Since Tebby and I had adult size meals, we got 2 kiddy meal FOC. For Kakak we ordered another meal, which she barely ate. Alhamdulillah, things were not as bad as I thought it'd be. The kids behaved (of course ada salt and pepper yang tumpah, berebut crayon, nak belon and the likes but overall, they were okay in the sense that we managed to eat in peace... and habis). Okie dokie, some photos..

Red Wok Kajang/Bangi

Now that I am a temporary SAHM, me and Tebby spend less time together, the 'just-us' time. When I was working, we usually had our breakfast together and occasionally lunch. Friday was the 'groceries-day' which later we had quiet dinner together before heading home. We love our kids to bits but after years of marriage we decided that we need to have some 'just-us' time. Just like we need 'abah-ummi-kids' time.

We have 'pasar Kajang' time together. So un-romantic is may sound but doesn't dating means doing something we like in common? Plus, it's like killing two birds with one stone. Dating, and all the provision is done for.

And recently we started dating back on regular basis on Friday night. No good movies to catch up, we ended up on good food. After three weeks in a row of Saba Restaurant (read here and here), we tried out new place earlier today. Red Wok in Bangi. We acccidently saw this place en-route back home from Saba the other day (while being sesat sebenarnya). Tried out thier Korean Sizzling Steamboat (grill+steamboat). They have Steamboat alone as well. Met Tebby's friends there and they recommended ala carte as well. Maybe next time, InsyaAllah.

Saba (Again)

Okay-okay. This is actually 3rd week in a row we went to Saba Cyberjaya. I dunno what they've put in their cooking but I am totally addicted. Even the rice alone is yummeh enuff to be eaten on its own (chewah, cam iklan roti gardenia lah pulak). We need to give this a break for a while before we become mascot of Saba nanti ha ha.

Since I did not post anything on my 2nd visit (read my 1st visit, here), I'll just do it here. En Suami had Lamb Hanith (again). I thought of trying something with 2 legs, I ordered a chicken dish (Chicken Khabsah). So tamak that we were (*cough* actually it was En Suami), we ordered 1/2 chicken. We should have ordered the chicken only. What we got were, 1/2 chicken and plateful (a big one that was) of rice to go with that 1/2 chicken. For the lady that was. The lady was me. The verdict? Between Lamb Hanith and Chicken Khabsah, I'll go for the lamb.

But, albeit my earlier statement of preferring the lamb over chicken, I still fell for chicken on our 3rd visit. En Suami ordered Lamb Khabsah while I had Grilled Chicken (lama wei depa nak grill, terpaksa ai *cough* tumpang kasih makan nasi En Suami jugak, while waiting *cough*) Oh, we even had 1/2 Khabsah chicken in the middle. Actually I wanted to order liver but En Suami dengan tangkasnya order itu Khabsah chicken dulu. Well, as revenge, I had rice pudding, all for myself. Even tho ai pun makan jugak ayam Khabsah kontroversi tu.

On the way back, tersangkut dalam jem depan Jusco Cheras Selatan. Ada J Card day and people were still arriving even after 10! It took us more than 10 minutes to get home when it's usually a mere 2-3 minutes drive only. Nasib baik perut ai kenyang dan ai dah shopping awal-awal sebelah pagi tadi so ai tak bengang sangat.

Oh ya peeps, I am slowly gaining back all the weight loss sepanjang ai jadi TSAHM nih. Thanks to Saba.

Restoren Saba, Cyberjaya

Alhamdulillah. For the good meal Allah bestowed upon us tonight.

Tebby had a meeting in Cyberjaya few days back, and had lunch afterward in Restoren Saba in Cyberjaya itself. The food was good that he told his boss, he'd be of guilt until he brings me there. You'd better be!

So, he's officially guilt-free tonight. We've just came back from good, delicioux, fulfilling dinner that I told myself I need to do extra rounds of jogging next week. Obviously I over ate (wot's new nway?) Why not this weekend? Well, for one, tomorrow will be my pasar day and Bibik is taking a leave this weekend. I can't jog peacefully with three 'handbags' in tow right? Next week then. Remind me please, of that extra rounds.

Lamb Hanith. We ordered size L and shared this between me and Encik Amsterdam. The rice itself pun sedap that you can eat it on its own. The lamb, tho rich in bau kambing, sangat sedap jugak. So moist and tender that when you dip your fork in it, berlerai lerai daging from tulang. Ya, go on, drool. Memang sedap. This dish, Encik Amsterdam makan lagi banyak dari I.

Ini pulak Lamb Kebab. Sedap jugak. The meat is moist and flavourful. Actually it came with two strips of kebab tapi syok makan punya pasal, dah tinggal seketul baru teringat nak ambik gambar bagai. This, I ate almost all. Fair.

Encik Amsterdam minum air Barbarian ehh.. Barbican ni ha. He had 2 servings of this. I don't like it tho. Too gassy. I settled for something more 'regular' - fresh orange (ops! minum ais di malam hari, not good)

Last but not least, for dessert (ngada-ngada pulak malam ni, nak ber dessert-dessert bagai), I had Chocolate Pudding. The taste is just right, rich in chocolate taste but not overwhelmingly sweet. Served cold. (argghhh, sejuk lagi). I had meant *cough* *cough* to eat just a small portion and bring back some for Kakak but before I knew it *cough* *cough*, all is gone. This I had all for myself. Not fair huh?

That is me in my newly purchased blue-white checkered shirt and my not-so-newly acquired double chin. And zit mark. *sigh*

Khamis Yang Indah

Semalam ambik cuti. Takde apa-apa significant nak buat pon, except Tebby bayar duit keta and me sent watches for servicing. Heh, bunyi cam le mahal sangat jam-jam tu kan. Thing is, ada yang dah berzaman jarum tak bergerak-gerak. Tak tau le kot-kot dah rosak. Out of 5, 2 leaked battery already. One gone case, tak boleh diselamatkan. One sent for tukar cermin pasal ada chip kat tepi nun. And I got meself a sports watch. Ala, dengan nama lain, jam pelestik.. seswai nak bawak berlasak-lasak pi jogging ke hapa kan. I asked, boleh masuk air ke? Uhh kalau masuk air, rosak lah tapi boleh masuk dalam air. Loyar buruk lah pulak. I got a BUM watch for RM90. Sebenarnya, asalnya rasa gatei nak beli Baby-G shocking pink.... apakah? Tapi En Tebby dengan berhemah suh beli hak RM90 itu saja. Thanks Yang for bringing me back into reality heh heh.

Car loan paid, watches serviced, perut pulak kasi isi sikit. Makan kat Tony Roma. This time I rate them at 2/5 only. Why? My steak medallion, as the name implies, should look like medals but I got something flat and, well, they did not resemble any kind of medals or medallion at all. Medallion kena pijak maybe. But I had to complement their greens. Salad that comes on un-necessarily big bowl (for a not-so-green person like me) but the taste was nice anyway. Tebby had some kind of chicken which didn't go well with his tastebud. I ordered old fashion lemonade, thinking it would be like the one I made at home but I got lemon soaked in soda. Perit tekak makcik okay. Next time I'd better ask for their modern version of lemonade, who knows I may get like the one I made at home heh heh. If you don't get it, I'm being sarcastic okay.

After Tony Roma, MPH we go. Well, I did. Tebby went to Comic Mart to get his dose of comics.. err... he puts them as graphic novels. That way, I can browse without having him breathing over my shoulder and he, me. I got meself 3 books and some bookmarks (FYI, I don't dog-ear my books and I respect books, so bookmarks will come handy)

ps - those bookmarks dah jadi the kids' toys in no time.. sigh..

Mon Rod Kitchen

Lepas bawak anak-anak ke tasik petang tadi, kami suami isteri had quiet dinner outside. Kat Mod Rod Kitchen di Suarasa, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn. Barulah adil dan saksama kan heh heh. Spend time dengan anak-anak and had private time berdua-duaan.

For drink, I had Watermelon Juice and Tebby had Blueberry Soda (something like that la namanya). For dinner I had Lamb Chop (agak masin) and Tebby had Mushroom Chicken Chop (sosnya agak masak, according to Tebby).

Girls Lunch Out & Skinfood

Girlssss... we should it more often!

We (read Suzanne, Sikulat, Jah, Zarid, Zue and meself) had a short girls lunch-out time siang tadi. Me, Zarid and Suzanne sort of planned it about 2 weeks back but due to other commitments, it was postponed.

I was looking for a lipstick and was weighing between MAC and Bobbi Brown. Suzanne dragged me to BB instead and after 2 samples (hey, acik ni sempoi jek taww), I got meself one. The way the SG there greeted Suzanne, anda sure tahu bahawa dia pengunjung setia dan dia mungkin telah membeli berbakul-bakul mekap dari sana. She got something for herself nonetheless dan peneman setia, Zarid pula telah membeli berus-berus mekap. I, have yet to upgrade myself to that level, level yang menggunakan berus-berus untuk mekap. Setakat ni, brushes yang ku tau cuma berus gigi, berus lantai dan berus botol susu saja. Penyudahnya, antara kami bertiga, I spent the least.

Sebelum lunch di Delicious, sempat singgah di Guess untuk melihat jam idaman salah seorang kami yang bernilai kira-kira RM6,000! Bukan, bukan saya. Acik old-fashion okay. For RM6,000, I'd rather spend it on watches from Tissot, Rado and tambah sikit duit lagi, buleh dapat Omega atau Rolex yang paling murah. Typical taste makcik-makcik kan. Tapi, satu fakta yang anda perlu tahu, acik takde duit sebanyak tu nak beli jam okay.

Delicious on the other hand, was not as I expected. Maybe the food we choosed. Maybe la kan. I had pasta by the name of Thai Crabmeat something, which I consider a failed marriage between east and west. Tak jadi okay. Sampai acik lupa nak snap gambarnya sebab terkulat-kulat makan. Kawan belanja beb, kena makan jugak. Thanks Zarid. Kalau tahu awak belanja, akak makan kek sekali ahaks!

Btw, sebelum balik rumah sebelah petangnya, saya dan Tebby singgah di Mines. Mines sekarang dah hebat berbanding dulu. Dah ada wing baru and dah refurbish. Tebby nak cari belt, saya pulak nak teruskan misi mencari kedai Skinfood. Tebby seperti biasa, bab-bab shopping ni dia akan beri laluan kat saya dulu. Lalu, membelilah saya 4 item seperti gambar di bawah ini.. I reserve my comment dulu. Baru pakai sekali..

Asalnya nak cari mask sama scrub aje tapi err... saya tambah dengan essense dengan mosturiser jua. Letih acik hafal apa nak tempek lepas apa. Apa nak sental lepas apa. Pulak tu semenya nama makanan je. Yelah, Skinfood kan. Keluar dari situ, cecepat ajak Tebby pi dinner he he.

Q Thai

Tebby's back. Form Genting dia singgah ofis. Decided for dinner outside. Just him and me. Sampai BTHO dalam jam 6.30pm. Alang-alang dah sampai time tu, ambik Kakak straight from school then bawak dia sekali lah. So the three of us went steamboating in Q Thai.

Kami ambik eat-all-u-can, priced at RM22 for adults and RM12 for kids, depending on the height. Kalau tinggi Adam tu, free je lah. The spread, not bad jugaklah. Value for money kiranya. Just RM22 je kan per person. Kalau makan nasi berhidang siap lauk pauk dengan sayur bagai, haruslah lagi mahal dari tu.

Q Thai ni situated in Taman Tun Perak. Kalau orang area Cheras menghala ke belah-belah Kajang mungkin tau area ni. Taman Tun Perak is a small housing area terkepit kat area Taman Minang dengan Bandar Tun Hussein Onn. I thought it is just a shop lot, rupanya it's a building on its own. Ample parking space.

I need to comment on one thing. Sungguh authenthic Thai sampaikan nak berkomunikasi pun seksa. Kakak nak bawak balik shell nak taruk dalam aquarium dia so I asked for a small plastic bag. Budak waiter tu senyum aje sambil bagi jawapan yang tak menjawab soalan Yes, you may have the shell. 3rd person baru le kami dapat beg plastik nya.
