Goat's Milk, Anyone?

My history with susu kambing goes a long way.. almost 8 years ago. Iman kena jaudice few days after his birth. He was 100% fully breastfed at that time. And kampungfolks biasalah kan, asal jaundice je suruh bagi susu kambing. Of course I was reluctant. Masa tu berpantang kat kampung. Pegi hospital gomen manjanglah kena ambik darah. Then we brought him back to KL to see his paed. Paed kata.... laaaaa... ni still tolerable lagi ni. Nothing to worry about. Iman kena breastmilk jaundice. Solution? Keep on breasfeeding tapi stop makan all those jamu-jamuan. To cut things short, sebulan lebih jugaklah si Iman kuning.And we did not feed him susu kambing pun.

Now look who's gulping down goat's milk? Emak kepada budak yang kena jaudice almost 8 years ago :D What enticed me? Sebab nampak kat blog-blog masakan, bila buat tayangan makanan, ada je terselit botol susu kambing Nubian ni. I decided to try. My first sip was from the brand Nubian Goat's Milk. (Nubian is also the name of a type of kambing) Sedap weh rupanya. Lemak Berkrim. But then again, memang I prefer full cream than low fat anyway. So far setakat ni I've tried only original flavour. Yang coklat tu memang tak pernah jumpa pun takat ni.

Nubian also does delivery. Minimum 12 bottles. Each bottle is 200ml. Last week I bought Nubian for RM4.99 each bottle at Jusco and tadi RM5.09 at Carrefour. Kat web tu, each sold for RM5.00 and they charge RM3 for delivery. Never tried their delivery tho (yet?)

This, I first tried last Friday. Village Goat's Milk. Mintak tolong member cubicle sebelah tolong orderkan from her friend. RM20 for 5 bottles of a little more than 200ml each. I missed their 'buy 5 get 1 free' promotion but still, considerably cheaper.. by RM1 per bottle than Nubian Goat's Milk. I'm not sure if it's nubian's goat milk or other type of kambing. Verdict? Kurang lemak berkrim. Taste-wise I prefer Nubian Goat's Milk. Price-wise, of course lah this one kan. No delivery charge some more. Maybe I should drink Nubian Goat's Milk first 2 weeks after dapat gaji and the remaining weeks drink this cheaper version while patienly waiting for gaji :D :D

I left one frozen bottle and went for a meeting. Habis banjir meja ku. Lupa nak alas dengan tisu. Anyway, they really need to improve tutup botol tu. Jenis yang kena tarik tu tapi 'tali' tu rapuh sangat.. I ended up using tools like pencil, pen and akhirnya gunting :D Berpeluh jugaklah nak bukak tutup tu :D

Gastrik - nope. i am well fed.
Osterporosis - well, maybe. big possibility.
Hepatitis A - insyaAllah no.
Eczema - nil
Asthma - new discovery. yes, I do have.
Barah - na'uzubillah.
Memulih tenaga batin - no related problems under that category ha ha
Rawatan kulit - yes! yes! yes!
Menambah selera makan - my husband will not like this. thank you.
Demam kuning - nope and na'uzubillah.
Blue babies - i am not a baby anymore

Some claim susu kambing is next best thing after mother's milk.I am a supporter of breastfeeding but if the brestfeeding journey is not as smooth as expected, be thankful we still have alternatives.

I asked the kids if they want to try susu kambing. Kakak geleng. Iman said 'uewww'. Adam said 'bek' 'bek' 'bek' :D  :D
