Selamat Hari Raya!

Selamat Hari Raya AidilFitri.
Maaf Zahir Batin.
A little late, eh. But it's still Syawal, right.

Will not blog about our Hari Raya. The usual drill, bakar lemang, sembahyang raya, makan dodol, main bunga api. The only unusual thing was that, I was down with fever, flu and bad cough. That bad that I skipped fasting on the last 2 days to nurse all the ilnesses. Had it not for those, I may have fasted a full month. In case you're wondering, I've tested 2 times and they were all negative. Walaupun anak bulan Syawal dah kelihatan, saya masih belum datang bulan, so to speak he he.

The second unusual thing was that, we contributed to the statistics of being trapped in road congestion on Sunday 5th October. I know the congestion is usual but it was unusual of us to be trapped in one. We've been avoiding that since forever. We always came back one day earlier than the balik-KL rush. Until this year. We travelled 13-hours journey from KT to KL last Sunday. Sib baik Adam was not that crancky. Cuma nearing Gombak, he refused his seat and I had to hold him while he did his little jumps. Sakit tangan makcik okeh. Iman was 'muncung' already. He was tired and had to give way for Adam to settle on my lap. Kalau tak manjang mamat tu baring atas riba. Yahh, a big manja 'anak ummi' boy Iman is. Kakak pulak was munching non stop (when she's not sleeping). Abis makanan adik dia pon dia taram. Bertuah punya Kak Long.

I was on leave on Monday. Doing the usual laundry, groceries shopping, a bit mengemas and all. Also went to Tony Roma (again?) for lunch. Suffice to say some of the waiters already kenal our muka.

Okay people, some photos. Of food masa buka puasa kat Al-Diafah. Gambor lain tak sempat nak upload kat laptop lagi.

Happy Birthday Mr Tebby

Happy 34th Birthday to the most wonderful man of my life.

I thought of getting him a watch to replace his worn-and-torn Tissot. I've been warned that I could very well give birth anytime now so the idea of scouting alone for a watch is a big no-no at the moment. I think I'm gonna drag him somewhere, and let the birthday-boy chooses for himself.

Yang, Selamat Hari Jadi. I Love You. Much more than you think I do.

[Birthday] [Tea Party] [False Alarm] [Open House]

[IMAN IS 3!]
He turned 3 last Saturday (3/11/2007). Unfortunately I was too tired and was not too well to prepare anything. Not even cakes or party packs to be shared with his kindy friends. I'll try to figure out something later, InsyaAllah. Happy 3rd Birthday Iman sayang!
(He had fever that night until mid Sunday -> poor young man!)

[A LITTLE GARDEN-TEA-PARTY]
We had Saleh & his friend (the guys that turned our lawn into a little garden) over to do a bit of maintenance of our little lawn on Sunday. Since it was still Syawal, we invited them for a little tea and some cookies and cakes after they've done with their work. After they left, the kids took over and had some fun. Since it was outdoor, I did not really mind the spills and bits and pieces and how Iman dipped his hands many-many times in the 'air basuh tangan' served. And later immitated how Tebby sponged his body the night before.

[FALSE ALARM]
Too soon for me, I can't even feel the contractions yet! After Asar yesterday, an emergency alarm went off. I was like 'alamakk!!'. We've just been in the new building for 2 months and we were not briefed of the safety procedure yet. Not knowing what else to do, I, along with the others, took the stairs.. right from the 14th Floor until we reached Ground. It was raining heavily outside so we flocked then cramped ourselves in the lobby. Barely 15 minutes later we were instructed to go back to our offices, without any explanation what-so-ever. At that time, people were still 'arriving'. I later heard rumors that the alarm went blaring by mistake. No wonder there was no BOMBA, ambulance and what-and-who should've been there. SMS-ed Tebby. His reply? ** Boleh! As in 'Malaysia Boleh', if you still don't get it.

[OPEN HOUSE]
Thanks for those who invited us. We could only managed one. Tebby's friend in Ampang Saujana. They were buddies since their UMIST days. Later another buddy joined and from the look of it, they had lots of fun. Menu included roast lamb, laksa johor (i had 2 servings), soto, fruits and some cold and hot drinks. Did not take much lamb - takut pening kepala yang sememangnya sedia pening. Those friends whose house that we couldn't make it, really sorry. Health did not (mine and Iman) permit us doing so.

Salam Syawal

We were back in KL yesterday. Except Kakak, who had (still is) great time at my parents' and decided to stay back. She'll be back with my brother this weekend. Sampaikan semalam call pun tak berapa nak bercakap, busy bebenor.

Cadangnya nak start keje today but Atfal still tutup so dok rumah mengemas and membasuh kain. Punyalah menimbun, habis semua pagar depan dengan belakang! Jiran-jiran pun masih belum ramai yang balik. Senyap sunyi aje. Jiran kiri, kanan dan belakang pun masih belum habis beraya di kampung masing-masing. Tebby dah start keje dah.

Eid was celebrated sederhana in both Tebby's and my kampung. Takdelah pegi ziarah banyak sangat pun, kecuali sedara-mara terdekat. With Iman, susah sikit nak ke sana-sini. Faham-faham sajalah dia tu. Hari Raya pertama, MIL buat Nasi Beryani, kedua pulak bakar sate. Esoknya ke Jerantut rumah bapak saudara (adik my father). Seronok dengar cerita diorang masa kecik-kecik dulu. Sedar tak sedar dah 3 jam kami kat situ. Sempatlah makan Mihun Soto yang lazat. Malamnya ke rumah Abang Long saya di bandar Temerloh. Mihun Sup pulak. Keesokannya kami ke Bentong, rumah adik mak saya. Makan Mi Kari dan nasi berlauk bagai. Hari Khamis sebelum bertolak ke KL, ke rumah mak sedara saya. Kakak dan Iman terus serbu reban ayam kat belakang rumah, adeh. Iman langsung tak naik ke rumah, dok berlari kat laman sampailah kami balik. Collection duit raya anak-anak so-so lah. Saya pun tak nak diorang ni ada perception yang duit raya tu as vital part of Eid celebration. Yang nyatanya akan saya bank-in ke Tabung Haji masing-masing. Jangan tak tau Tebby masih dapat duit raya dari Along (my eldest SIL).

Saya pulak masih loya-loya dan muntah-muntah. Dah masuk 11 weeks dah. Perut pun dah membulat. Yang berbezanya sekarang, selera makan saya dah mula naik. Kalau kena dengan lauknya, mau bertambah-tambah saya makan. Hari tu kat kampung, lauknya cuma sup ayam, ikan goreng dan sambal tempoyak. Pehh... sib baik nasi dalam periuk dah habis. Esoknya pulak, dek sebab saya nak sangat makan pisang goreng, mak saya gorengkan pisang semangkuk besar. Apalagi, dekat 1/2 mangkuk tu saya sorang aje yang makan. Tapi kalau tak kena gayanya, apa pun depan mata, saya usik sikit aje. Bab makan waktu mengandung ni saya kena hati-hati sikit, takut anak jadi besar. Waktu bersalinkan Kakak, Dr Jemilah dah warning saya, baby paling besar saya boleh bersalin normal mungkin pada takat 3.5kg saja (which is birthweight Kakak).

Salam Syawal dari saya....

Show-Off Time!

I'm getting pathethic, in a way, I think. But anyway, blog is a mean of documenting life right. My life-jurnal, which is not so personal.

Anyway, this may hurt Yati a bit. Sorry dear but I hope you will be able to re-arrange your LGK trip nonetheless. There's always reason behind everything that happens. Who knows, you may get more $$$$ that you can spend should the trip be postponed. Presenting..... my Souffle Blue Corelle set. Told you I'm dull, monotonous and boring. (Sikulat and Zarid recently said I am not as introvert as I claim myself to be.. And they say Kakak is very much cheeky as I am..).

Back to the Corelle thing, we've begun to use the set last weekend, much to Kakak's excitement. She's finally upgraded from melamine Garfield. (Let's not waste things, those are Iman's now). I could not decide whether I should buy the Country Herbs or Plum set in the beginning. Somehow, considering my age, I scrapped Plum off my list. To make my decision-making process much easier, I saw this tea set. Err... supposedly of fine China. So, the Country Herbs was scrapped as well. To match the so-called fine China, I finally settled on Souffle Blue.

a bit on the classic end. but what a heck, it's just RM130 per set.

Ever wonder what SOUFFLE is? I did. Here's from Wiki
A soufflé is a light, fluffy, baked dish made with egg yolks and beaten egg whites combined with various other ingredients and served as a main dish or sweetened as a dessert. The word soufflé is the past participle of the French verb souffler which means "to blow up" or more loosely "puff up" — an apt description of what happens to this combination of custard and egg whites.
Every soufflé is made from 2 basic components:
1. a base of flavored cream sauce or purée
2. beaten egg whites.
The base provides the flavor and the whites provide the "lift". Common varieties for the base include cheese, chocolate, and lemon (the last two used for desserts, with a good deal of sugar). When it comes out of the oven, a soufflé is generally very large and fluffy, and will "fall" after 20 or 30 minutes (as risen dough does). Soufflé can be made in containers of all shapes and sizes but it is traditional to make soufflé in "soufflé cups" or ramekins.

Let's put a stop to all these pinggan mangkuk thing, shall we?

Someone wants to see us on screen. At least on computer screen. I don't normally put the photo of me-self too much, in case you hadn't noticed. So here goes us on tebby's convocation day. Oh, tebby who? My husband self-proclaimed himself as 'tebby'. That is for teddy-hubby by the way. Yahh... nice to hold, all gebu with lots and lots of cushion I must say! Yang, you know I don't really like those selim-melim lean guys, so this is indeed a compliment from me.

me and tebby.
tebby is wearing a tie I bought for him in Itaewon.
