Everyday without fail, after picking up the kids from Atfal, I'd always ask Kakak how her day was. Homework, school that day, what she bought and ate. Last 2 days, while 'answering' my queries, she immediately started sulking. I knew the girl sitting next to her suka buli dia. I thought that has stopped.
That day the girl, let's name her Sy*z*, took her scrap book. Memang kami suruh Kakak bawak 'buku conteng', to jot pesanan-pesanan cikgu, if any. Not just that, she bit Kakak's eraser into pieces and took one pencil from her. Kakak said she tried to defend herself and her belongings but that Sy*z* girl started crying. When she did that, Kakak started panicking and finally gave in. Plus, she told me that Sy*z* girl's mother is a friend of her class teacher. I told her I don't care if she's a friend of a PM even.
'Ummi ni orang Bugis taww'
'Kenapa, orang Bugis boleh buat magik ke Ummi?' <---- dia bukan perli ok. it was an honest question from her.
'No lah, cakap kat Sy*z*, Ummi ni garang. Lain kali kalau dia ambik apa-apa lagi, Ummi pegi sekolah jumpa dia. Kalau dia gigit eraser Kakak, Ummi gigit dia nanti'.
'Tak boleh Ummi. Sy*z* kata mak dia lagi garang'
'Ummi ni keturunan supergirl tau Kakak, Ummi boleh pakai sp*nd*r kat luar'
'Can you fly?' Bulat mata dia masa ni. Again, bukan perli. Soalan ikhlas.
'Arghhh' <--- dalam hati
The next day I asked how's things going at school and if that Sy*z* girl has returned her book. Sy*z* did and told Kakak 'ini dendam'. Now, she's only 8 and already speaking about dendam okay. I told Kakak if that Sy*z* girl doesn't want to be her friend, there's always other girls she can hang out with.
'Tapi tu tak baik Ummi. Kalau Tuhan marah, nanti satu Kuala Lumpur petir. Nanti kita semua kena petir'
La pulak....
Partly, I'm blaming myself. As a first child, dia banyak mengalah dengan adik-adik. Sampaikan dengan kawan-kawan pun dia mengalah. I need to teach her to start stand for her rights pulak.
And oh, she did not tell that Sy*z* girl about wearing undies outside my pants. Seriously, I don't.
