Ujala - Mari Mendobi!

Be warned: -
1) Some may find this entry very lame
2) I bukan spokeperson Ujala.. sekian.

When it comes to dealing with whites, I am an old school. I believe strongly in the usage of 'nila'. It makes your whites whiter. And makes your whites look fresher too. Ha, cemana kain baju nampak fresh? Susah nak explain. Try la then you'll know.

I remember when I was small, my mother sokmolah suruh nila baju sekolah and kasut sekolah (when in the absence of kapur kasut) And yes, I did my own laundry when I was small. Basuh-dengan-tangan okay. There was no 24 hours electricity back then at my kampung, takde mesin-mesin basuh ni. Then when finally we half 1/2 day electricity, barulah my father belikan mesin basuh. That semi-auto thingy. Hebat ooo time tu kalau ada benda tu kat rumah :D

Anyway, back then nila liquid cam sekarang ni takde. Time tu nila seketul seketul. About 1x1x1 inci la lebih kurang. My mom'd put it dalam setokin lama and rendam dalam air sampai air jadi biru. Some nila degil escape setokin tu and that lump biasanya akan spoilkan everything. Habih bercapuk2 kain. Pastu nak hilangkan kesan tu cukup susah. Nak kena berus semula kain tu *nangis* I've tried googling for gambar nila pesen lama ni, nan ado.

But now, thanks to Ujala. Nila liquid yang sangat menggembirakan hati ai! I rely heavily on this for my kids' baju sekolah putih and Tebby's white shirts. I normally akan mendobi hak putih-putih ni Jumaat malam Sabtu (wahhh begitu detail!). Semua stok seminggu dan terkumpul, baru puas hati nak mendobi. Though I am quite cerewet about pengurusan kain baju putih, not the point I handwash them. Takde masa dan kekuatan :D

Memula sekali picitlah botoi Ujala ni sampai liquid tu memenuhi surface bawah bekas ni. Jangan over, kang baju anak-anak anda sama taraf dengan baju pengawas pulak. Jadi biru pekat :D

Pastu startlah mesin tu. Bila air dah masuk, tadah bekas isi nila tadi kasi dilute.

Gaul secukup rasa :D Hak lelebih kat bekas tu tu bilas jangan tak bilas.

Ni my feveret. Sabun basuh kain TOP sama fabric softener Daia. I don't like Softlan. Selalu tak rata pastu tinggal stain atas kain. Nak hilangkan bukan main susah lagi. So far so good with this combination. Even campur dengan nila pun takde bekas-bekas tompok-tompok.I can't use Good Maid or Ava walaupun I like the after-smell. Ada org allergic kat both brand, badan naik gatal-gatal.

Set soak for 8 hours, normal cycle... esok pagi bangun tidur laundry's done. Sidaii!!

Kek Belang

Cooking, unfortunately, is not my forte. Too bad eh, especially when I am married to someone who's been fed good home-cooked food while growing up.

Whenever I am trying new recipe, I'd get that 'worried sick' feeling, worrying whether or not it will turn out well :D

However,
I tried doing chilled cheesecake - it turned out well.
I tried doing this 'apam belang' - it turned out well.

But,
I had two epic failures doing dessert, corn based. Which is Tebby's favorite :P

Anyway, here's the apam belang I am so proud of doing :D :D Siap bawak gi ofis jamu kawan-kawan makan!

Moist and gebus! Bimbang sangat it'll turn hard once cooled. But it didn't. I like the color combo. Cuma nak melayer kaler-kaler tu belum expert. Bersepah-sepah!

The texture is like a crossbred of cake and apam actually.

This one - success. Belum ada keberanian nak re-try buat dessert yang jagung tu. Next - brownies, maybe?

Happy 38th Birthday to the Man of the House!

Man of the House, and his offspring. Celebrated over breakfast :) Lunch pegi makan luar, with the intention of eating and getting him his birthday present.

Offspring No 1 - suka makan spaghetti.

Offspring No 2 - feveretnya pizza. Tayah topping fancy-fancy. Dapat yang ada sauce sama cheese pun dah cukup.

Offspring No 3 - haippp... Adik, kenapa buat muka gitu?? Baju pilih sendiri. Orang lain sumer pakai tshirt, dia sorang je mat-smart pakai shirt :D

Making Do - Part II

Rumah membelakangkan tasik. Kalau dapat rumah dengan backyard yang luas sampai ke tahap buleh santai-santai minum teh di petang hari or boleh buat BBQ party. Kan syok. Gambar ni deretan rumah semi-D di dearah Tambun. Snapped dari dalam kawasan Lost World of Tambun. Kalau pesen-pesen gini di area KL, kalau takde duit hampir-hampir jutaan ringgit, jangan harapkan nak buleh beli :P

Anyway, di kejiranan saya ada semi-D mengadap tasik. Sold at approximately 800k few years back. Now rasanya dah jutaan ringgit. We all know how absurd the increase of price rumah-rumah kat Malaysia nan tercinta ni. Way beyond our reach. Tu tak masuk interest loan lagi, lawyer fee lagi etc. Bertabahlah yer..

Apapun, syukur ada atap atas kepala, ada dinding kiri-kanan. Conclusion ada tempat we can call home :D :D Biarpun tasik terdekat is 5 minutes drive away. Biarpun backyard cuma boleh sidai kain aje. Dan jangan buat BBQ di backyard, nanti jiran marah jemuran diorang berbau asap ayam, hotdog, sotong etc. Biarpun minum teh cuma boleh dilakukan di dalam rumah. On a romantic note, rumah sekarang dah menyaksikan pelbagai kenangan pahit manis (whyla pahit dulu baru manis ek? no masa or masin?), dari anak sorang sampai jadi tiga, kenangan menyaksikan anak-anak membesar selama 10 tahun kami tinggal di situ. Gaduh, baik, marah, merajuk, bahagia. Macam-macam lagi lah.

Anyway, ingat my entry making-do ni? Syukur, lepas first submission untuk withdraw duit untuk setelkan loan rumah rejected by EPF sebab ada sedikit discrepancies in documents, second submission lulus. Submit last Monday 9/4/2012. Semalam semak i-account, dah approve, tengah tunggu duit masuk dalam akaun loan. Katanya dalam 2 minggu should settle semua urusan pembayaran.

InsyaAllah, we'll be renovating. Now, boys please clear your differences because once the reno is done, you two will be sharing room. I'll not entertain anymore co-sleeper except in the event sapa-sapa tak sihat only.

Adam

Iman Muda Adam, insyaAllah :D Tak masuk bertanding pun takpe Dik. Janji Adik boleh jadi Iman nanti okay.

In about a month, he'll be 4. Sejak-sejak ke tadika, dah banyak dia belajar. Alhamdulillah, momentum masih mantop! There's no one day that he malas nak pegi tadika. Tho at one time he asked me to finish off his homework. Bertuah punya budak kan :D :D Photo above, proudly showing off his new tadika uniform. Lengkap ber'topi'ah, as he puts it.

Adam is one cheeky boy. Observant. At times kasar. Kalau bergurau dengan dia memang sakit jadinya. Tapi manja. He'd come out of nothing and gives us a full wet kiss on the mouth (imagine the saliva ha ha.. euwww... nasib baik budak kecik!) Certain nights he begs to sleep with me. Just the two of us alone :P

I still do not know how to explain to him. Aku? In my household, stricly no Aku. Aku is kasar I said. Tapi ni niat solat Ummi, lagilah tak boleh kasar. Help!

:D Cheeky! He went running away right after that. I tested again few days later, alhamdulillah. Doa yang betul :D

See... How can I not melt! Terus himpun kain and kemas semula......
