Celebratory Lunch @ Chili's 23062012

I have always believed in rewards as a gesture of appreciation. My school-going children may not be the best-est students in their class judging from their exam results. They made huge leap nonetheless. Kakak made it to 5th place in her class.Iman is in Band 3. Not taking this band-thingy into perspective pun, Iman has made a whole lot of improvement, education-wise. So far so good. 

Tebby, otw back to taska after meeting the kids' teachers, announced that he was treating us all for lunch that coming Saturday (which was last week's Saturday actually. Pardon the delay). At Chili's and suggested that we should have Molten Chocolate Cake for dessert. Say what? Chocolate? Cake? Nak! Nak! Nak!

Grape Juice and Orange Juice. My tastebud says that Grape juice tasted like anggur benyek but Tebby likes it very much. Since I don't do chilled or icy drink so much, we just shared a mug between us. Not exactly a mug la because Tebby had a refill. The kids had Orange Juice that came with Kid's Menu (one free Kid Meal for one main). Since we ordered just one main, we only got one free Kid Meal and paid for the other two.

Plain water for Iman. He has limited choices of preferred food. Including drinks. He takes hot teh-o, hot milo, yoghurt drinks and plain water. No soda. No caffeine.

Pepper Pal Country Fried Chicken Crispers for Adam. He was pretty occupied with a newly purchased Bumblee Bee, he barely ate these. Orang sebelah dia yang makan. Siapa duduk sebelah dia? Me laa.. :D The batter coating those chicken strips adalah sangat sedap!

Pepper Pal Cheese Pizza. Iman punya. Ni lah menu wajib dia kalau pegi Chili's. He loves pizza. Especially plain ones like this and most importantly, sans vege. Yeah, I know it's not good. But rather than not eating anything at all kan.

We the adults decided to order a stater and a main only. Share. For starter it was Triple Play. It's a combo of three types of starters. Chicken Crispers (as in Adam's Kid Meal), Wings Over Buffalo and Southwestern Eggrolls. It came with three types of sauces too. Three short sticks of celery to lessen the guilt! LOL!

A tower of Big Mouth Burger. Seen above tower dah roboh :D :D As the name goes, you really have open up wide to eat this! Kena potong dulu baru boleh makan. Too bad it came with a strand of hair...After complaining and had 3 staff came and talked to us, we had the replacement. Cut nicely in quarters. Okaylah senang nak makan. And most importantly, no hair!

Tadaaa!!! Molten Chocolate Cake. Topped with vanilla ice-cream. Atas tu ada chocolate shell somemore. *gemok* *gemok* The cake was warm and it had warm chocolate fudge inside. Imagine fudge meleleh-leleh the moment you dip your sudu in it. Being a sweet-tooth, I immediately fell in love with this. Love at first taste. If only they gave us two scoops of ice-cream. That would be better.

See. All licin already. Kalau kat rumah boleh jilat tanpa segan silu.... Kat kedai kena berbudi bahasa menjaga air muka suami...

Oh ya, we got a RM20 discount. I guess that's for that 'hairy incident'. That's basically one free Molten Chocolate Cake..

Hari Akademik 2012 SK BTHO 2

First time dapat snap gambar anak-anak in school uniforms. Iman dengan Adam tak pakai kasut sebab kasut tinggal kat taska. Thank you Hari Akademik 2012! Hari makpak pegi ambik report card anak-anak and discuss perkembangan pembelajaran anak-anak dengan guru kelas. Tahun lepas kena datang 2 kali, Kakak sekolah sesi pagi makanya kena datang ambik report card belah pagi. Iman pulak sekolah sesi petang, kena datang lagi sekali belah petang. Siap sampai bercuti kami dibuatnya. Tahun lepas, after ambik report card, makpak balik, anak-anak kena stay put sampai habis sesi persekolahan seperti biasa.

This year, Kakak masih sesi pagi, Iman sesi petang. Alhamdulillah sekolah buat Hari Akademik belah pagi for both sessions. Me and Tebby just mintak time-off from boss masing-masing. Jimat cuti :D Oleh itu, dapatlah snap gambar semua anak in school uniform sebelum pegi sekolah to 'face the truth' hihi.

Sampai sekolah around 8.00 a.m and THIS is what greeted us at the canteen. Car boot sales you ols! Bukan calang-calang barang yer, durian some more! Semerbak harum! Kot ya pun, agak-agak lah. Ni sekolah la. Apa nak kata, Malaysia Boleh! Had simple breakfast. Agak hambar tapi syukur ada jugak rezeki untuk alas perut.

Memula pegi kelas Kakak dulu. Class divided kepada 2 bahagian. Sebelah cater for sesi pagi. Sebelah lagi for sesi petang. Seen above Kakak dengan classmate dia. Sementara tunggu giliran.

She landed at 5th place this time around. Got highest mark in her class for English. If she can maintain the momentum, insyaAllah she'll be in better class next year. But to me that's not about it la sangat pun. In better class, in less better class pun, cikgu-cikgu tetap kena bagi same amount of input kan. On a personal note, Tahniah Kakak for the tremendous improvement. Last year she was at nombor berbelas-belas.

I noticed, the more I let her do her own things, the harder she'll work her school thingy. She loves art. We let her choose what she wants and does as she wants (musti tak exceed bajet and musti under close supervision supaya tak lupa kerja-kerja sekolah jugerr..)

Lepas tu pegi kelas Iman pulak. Yang ni lebih debaran sikit hihi. For KSSR, sekolah ni tak buat exam per se. They are rated based on homework, course work, simple routine tests etc. He lands at Band 3. KSSR ni ratingnya dari Band 1 sampai Band 6. Buat masa ni they are tested sampai Band 3 saja. A glimpse to result orang lain, nampak macam semua kat Band 3 jugak. Takpe, at least Iman at par :D Some other schools do have exams for KSSR students. Iman and his batch is pioneer la KSSR ni. Sampaikan dah sekolah 2 bulan pun text books lom sampai. Come to think of it, kalau bebetul dah kaji silibus and plan dengan teliti, why the delay? Anyway, Cikgu Awie kata Iman ni budaknya lurus (?? ye ke?? macam tak percaya je :D), always asks kalau tak faham. Diberi kerja dalam kelas, dia mesti buat and he has good handwriting. I once commented tulisan Iman cam cakar ayam. Cikgu komen kata cantik. I can't imagine what the cikgu has to go through reading tulisan students!! 

 

Kesian kan sekolah my kids. Lantai berlubang-lubang. Masa Iman Tahun 1, lagi teruk kelas dia. Sampaikan 1/4 of the class memang tak boleh letak meja. Berlubang-lubang!

After dah pick up and signed all necessary documents, sent back the kids to taska then off to work. Macam-macam rupa makpak. Muka stress. Muka happy. Tak kurang jugak yang tegang tangan menjijit buntil durian ha ha.

Anyway,

Anak-anak sekelian. Sekolah ni just part and parcel of kehidupan every each of you will have to go through. The bigger one awaits regardless time, day or at any age you are. School of life. Never-ending lessons. It will test more that what the school does. As a mother I can only prepare you for that so you can depend on yourselves to get through it all. Supaya anak-anak boleh berdiri atas kaki sendiri. Supaya anak-anak mampu menyuarakan pendapat dan rasa hati selama tak bertentang dengan ajaran agama. Supaya anak-anak menjadi orang yang baik-baik dunia dan akhirat terutamanya. Semoga kalian menjadi orang yang dihormati dan lebih penting lagi, menghormati orang lain...

Dinner @Orchid Bistro, Jusco Balakong

Jumaat lepas, after work singgah kat JJ Balakong. Nak cari pizza Mr Oetker kegemaran anak-anak. Tup-tup takde. Resorted to ordering Beef Pepperoni @Pizza Hut. It took around 15 minutes so we all pegi makan dulu while waiting.

Lepas pusing-pusing, last-last makan kat Orchid Bistro.

Order 2 gelas air suam. Waitress repeat order, air suam segelas. Okay takpe. Yang sampai 2 gelas.

Mee Goreng Mamak untuk en.Tebby. Sila makan dengan pisau dan garfu yer. Adoilah. Tak pernah lagi makan mee dengan pisau :P

Nevertheless rasanya sedap. Rupa pun buleh tahan.Pisau pun dah ganti dengan sudu..

Fried Wings. Sedap. Konon nak makan dengan Mee Goreng Mamak. Mee ilek oredi baru wings sampai. Mee Goreng Mamak sama 2 wings ni semua dimakan oleh Tebby yang berdiet *ahem*

Waitress - Sos mushroom sama sos blackpepper. Tapi mushroom dah habis.

Adoilah.. dah tentu-tentu kena ambik sos black pepper kan. Lagi mau tanya. Anyway, beef steak ni sangat not recommended. Very dry, keras dan liat. Nak makan pun susah. Lenguh rahang nak kunyah. Tapi malas nak komplen.

Reno! Puasa!

But alas, balik keje, sampai rumah, dinner, buat some chores, terusss lah melepek atas sofa and doze off.

Same thing with this house renovation thingy. I am thinking of so many things but have yet to settle on anything. 

House plan ready. Spoke to one prospective contractor so far. His RM rough estimation meets our budget. But need to get 2nd one or maybe 3rd quotations. 

Structurally we'll be extending GF, front and back. 1st Floor - front only. We have long driveway. 2 cars can  be parked front and back. Easily and comfortably. I'll be losing my lawn tho *sob*. And my pergola *uwaaa* and my wood deck *sniff*. But we do not have so much at the back. Only 5' can be extended. After much thought, we're keeping the marble floor at GF. Still ding-dong-ing on the parquet on the 1st floor. I'm keeping. He's not. We'll see laa how.

Well, need to spark the flame. Maybe a visit to kitchen appliances will do. That will start me (us) going.

On a totally different issue, I am now in mission ganti puasa. Ramadhan is approaching. Today is last day of Rejab. en.Tebby will join me in Sya'aban. He said masa one of the kutbah Jumaat, Imam tu cerita Nabi Muhammad (peace be upon Him) dulu, kalau isteri ganti puasa dalam bulan Sya'aban, Baginda akan puasa sama. Anyway, I am done with 2 days. Today is my 3rd. Tho this morning some syaitan goda-goda me not to bangun sahur and puasa today :D :D I have 6 days to ganti in total. 

Anyway, yesterday buka puasa with Nasi Lemak Mahbob, Bangsar. 

Nama pun kedai Mamak. Kat Bangsar some more - 3 buntil ni + roti naan satu = RM24!! 3 buntil ni merangkumi juadah buka puasa maknya, dinner anak sulungnya sama dinner anak tengahnya. Anak bongsu now mogok takmo nasi. Roti naan apak depa punya.

Menyelit pulak pie ni. Ni en.Tebby beli kat Menara T*. Sedap-sedap. Tapi semalam perisa yang berkenan dah habis.. tinggal spicy chicken ni je. Kesian pulak Iman terkejut sebab pedas. Dia suka cheesy chicken. Dah tu Kakak tengok Iman terkejut terus dia kensel nak makan. She memang kurenggg sikit makanan pedas-pedas. Takpe anak-anak. Kalo ada kederat kang tengahari Ummi pegi beli okay. Pagi tadi makan seketul for sahur. Laju giler kunyah sebab dah dekat nak Subuh hihi. Makan pun macam takde perasaan sangat. Nasib sempat. Hopefully yang belen-belen tu okay lagi. Buka puasa kang boleh sambung makan laalalalalaaa...

Iman punya. Lauk ayam goreng sama telur rebus sebijik. Memang hantu telur budak ni. Letak sambal secoet.

 

Kakak punya. Lauk ikan bulus 2 ekor sama telur rebus sebijik.

Ni ai punya. Lauk ikan bulus 2 ekor, hati ayam seketul sama telur rebus. Macam biasa over dari orang lain punya :P :P

Sedap macam biasa. Cuma nasi terlembik sikit. Nasi lemak Mahbob ni takdelah lemak sangat sebenarnya. Very light kelemakan dia tu. Other than nasi lemak, I love their roti naan. Beriani depa ai tak minat sangat. Ai lagi suka JM Bariani (tapi outlet kat BTHO dah tutup!! *sobs*).

Lunch @BARADA Lake Valley BTHO

Kemalasan nak memasak melanda! Booked cleaners tapi tak dapat slot yang diinginkan. I was free the whole weekends except Sunday noon. The only free slot the cleaning company had was Sunday noon! Sangat takde jodoh.

Lepas menyapu, menyental, mengemop dan sebagainya - makan laaa.. apa lagi. Kena pulak dah penat-penat gitu, 120% sedap dari biasa. Mula-mula ingatkan nak pegi JM BARIANI tapi tak bukak lagi. Pelik jugak, masa tu dah pukul 12.00 tengahari. Terus melencong ke BARADA. BARADA ni serves makanan Arab.

Iman punya. Dia tak nak nasi kaler striking-striking sangat. Nama tak ingat. Makan dengan ayam bakar. Iman tak suka makan daging.

Ni Kakak punya. Kaler nasi meriah sikit. Makan dengan kambing bakar. Dia ni pulak tak suka makan ayam. Kalau bawak pegi makan kat Chicken Rice Shop, berkerut-kerut muka dia. Tapi kalau Nasi Ayam abahnya masak, laju pulak dia makan.

Kakak.

Ni pulak ai punya. Nasi sama cam nasi Iman. Lauk kambing + lady finger. Sedap. Maknya takde tak suka apa-apa. Daging makan, ayam pun makan. Ikan pun okay. Adam pulak kongsi makan nasi Iman sikit, nasi Kakak sikit. Abahnya memula takmo order sebab kononnya nak share dengan anak-anak. Menengokkan anak-anak makan penuh semangat, dia order gak satu set nasi. Tapi takde gambar sebab jurufoto bizi makan :D

Nurse in the House!

Putting on my nurse uniform. Man of The House went for a teambuilding only to come back with injury. Fell on his side while main game paintball.

Went back yesterday straight to clinic. After x-rays and whatnots, alhamdulillah no fractured bones, no hairline cracks whatsoever. Just sprained muscles and some swells. Quite teruk jugaklah I think. Even bumpy car ride hurt. Thanks to my reckless driving :P

Tables are turned at times. He got a jab and almost fainted afterwards. Me and Doctor were 'tarik nafassssss, lepassss. tarik nafassssss, lepassssss' Like he used to tell me when I was in labour  :D

2 days MC and now resting at home. Ms Nurse has to work today. If you're reading this today Yang, jangan lupa makan ubat yer.

Lunch @Red Wok, Bangi

Awaken your tastebuds katanya ............ :D

RedWok is one of my family's favorite eating outlet. Famous for its steamboat and grill though they also do a-la-carte cooking. Good to hang out and laze through steamboat session. The children get to pick and choose whatever they want and had fun digging in ice cream later on. That's one way how me and en.Tebby often end our weekdays. Never been there or weekdays tho. Steamboat, consumes time. Like I said, hang out and laze throughout :D Weekends then. When we need not to worry about having to rush through the morning traffic to get to the office the next day.

Had lunch once there. Above is among the choices you can pick from. Atas nombor 2 dari kiri adalah sangat tempting but en.Tebby tak suka petai and tak suka me berbau petai. So petai session can only be done when he goes outstation :D

Food was good except for Nasi Goreng Cina. We specifically told the waiter no vege, no garnishing what-so-ever. Nampak dah budak waiter tu acuh tak acuh.Macam ngantuk je. Came Nasi Goreng Cina, meriah dengan sayur-sayuran and loads of garnishing. Waved to that very waiter, once again, buat acuh tak acuh. Called up waiter lain and complaint. We later got our Nasi Goreng Cina sans vege and garnishing. But the taste sangat so-so. Very bland, I'd say. We ended up meratah lauk pauk je. 

I'll definately come again and again for its steamboat. In fact, memang selalu datang pun. The irony is that, takde sekalipun ambik gambar when we do steamboat there. Gambar lunch yang just once we had there pulak yang ada :P Anyway, for lunch, I'd rather be eating at other places dari tengok muka ketat waiter kat sinun tu.

Hurry Mc Flurry

Kata orang, dah jadi ibu, jangan lupa jadi isteri. I once thought I'd be a lesser mother if I go out once in a while to have my own space and time. After sometimes, I realized that is just what I need to keep me going. To have a break once in a while. Remember that I went to Tanamera last Thursday? It was school holidays and of course the kids were curios when I took them out much later than I normally do. What more when I was casually dressed. Took them out for breakfast then they pow-ed me kat 7-eleven. They made me promised to bring them to McD once I fetch them later in the afternoon. Having done mentally calculating, I said.. Ummi datang jemput pukul 4.00 petang nanti. Lepas tu kita pegi Mc Donald's. Kakak nak Oreo Mc Flurry je ke? Nak burger jugak? Abang nak Horlicks Mc Flurry kan. Fries want or don't want? Adik? Nak sama Kakak Oreo Mc Flurry, ke nak sama Abang Horlicks Mc Flurry? We decided to have Mc Flurry each with burger, fries and whatnots. That would be our pre-dinner, so to speak.

After my Tanamera session was done, did my Zuhr prayer then rushed back to Cheras with empty, growling stomach. Breaking promises that I did with the kids is one thing I am always trying to avoid. Arrived at their taska at exactly 4.00pm.............. only to find they were eating nasi! A full plate each! Adoilah.

Anyway, a promise is a promise. Pegi jugaklah Mc Donald's. Tup tup mesin aiskrim rosak! Maka kecewalah anak-anak ku (walaupun perut dah kenyang makan nasi) tak dapat Mc Flurry bagai. Merawat hati-hati yang kecewa, I brought them up nearby Tutti Fruitti. Thing is, depa ni syok macam main masak-masak je kat Tutti Fruitti tu, sudahnya kang tak habis, makkknyaaaaa jugak yang habiskan.

Their pick. Iman punya raspberry (kalau tak silap) with very very very sour strawberry. Kakak punya sam flavour dengan Iman, cuma dia letak nata de coco. Adam ambik chocolate pastu letak 3 biji marshmallow. I had only RM50 dalam purse so the kids were strictly warned not too put too much of anything hihi.

Happy faces. Anyway, as expected, the boys did not finish theirs. Saya share dengan Ummi kan. Ni Ummi makan - Adam. Iman pun tak habis suruh maknya makan. Haihhh..

En.Tebby called up before driving back home asking how things were going. Otw back tu the abah made some effort to singgah at other McD and bought them the Mc Flurry yang diidam-idamkan itu. Maklumlah.. LIMITED TIME ONLY. Kang tak merasa pulak. The kids - double the joy :D Oh ya. Horlicks Mc Flurry it adalah sangat sedappp!! Lemak berkrim (I have soft spot for makanan yang lemak berkrim - be warned okay). Cubalah. Limited time only tu - cepat! Cepat! Yang ni tak payah jemput-jemput Ummi suruh share, Ummi jemput diri sendiri share Mc Flurry you ols hi.. hi..
