Cuti Cuti Melaka - Day 2

Second day in Melaka.

Penat already.

We’ve just came back from kawasan Dataran Pahlawan. Ronda-ronda dekat area itu saja. With small kids in tow, susah nak bergerak as we wish. Nak kena ikut time and mood diorang jugak. Kalau tak, abis cranky semua nanti.

Tadi kami naik beca. Dah berlima ni, with accumulated weight maybe dalam 150++kg, kenalah sewa 2 beca. Iman dan Adam dengan Ummi. Kakak dengan Abah. Walaupun naik beca dan bukan berjalan kaki, penat lah haii. Lenguh makcik. Malam ni belum ada definite plan lagi. See lah how.

Meanwhile, some photos just now.. (load just 2, my connection is gonna expire in some minutes..)

Tebby, Iman and Kakak (and Kikkor too!)

Me and kids. Adam sibuk tengok fountain tu.

Cuti Cuti Melaka

Seperti dirancang, kami ke Melaka hari ini. In fact, saya sekarang updet blog di bilik hotel kami di Renaissance. Cadangnya tadi nak keluar sightseeing tapi Iman dan Adam dah melepek kepenatan. Sudahnya duduk dalam bilik sajalah. Dinner pun terpaksa in-room dining.

Kami sampai di tol Ayer Keroh sekitar 11 pagi tadi. Mengikut rancangan, kami ke Zoo Melaka sebagai destinasi pertama. Sangat ramai orang okay. Kereta pun kami park kat tepi jalan saja sebab parking memang dah penuh. Kakak, Iman dan Adam happy. Especially Iman. Walaupun banyak binatang yang dia takut, dia tetap menjengah kandang demi kandang. Masa kami tengok panther (thru glass wall), panther tu siap jilat2 bibir dia and unexpectedly tiba-tiba dia menerpa. Iman kat depan sekali time tu. Apa lagi, cukup ligat kaki dia berlari, walaupun sekadar berlari di tempat yang sama! Kami agak rush masa kat Zoo. I think Adam is allergic to somekind of animal kat zoo tu. Matanya jadi merah dan bertahi. Bila balik hotel, baik dah. Iman, he made my heart melt at one point in Zoo. He uttered his 2nd 3-word-sentence. Dia takut nak pegi dekat area tortoise. I coaxed him. Alas, he said ‘takot. nanti. keket’ (takut, nanti gigit) sambil tangannya dibuka katup buka katup. Owhh… sukanya saya. Kalau nak ikutkan, Zoo Melaka is better than Zoo Negara (I think), cuma yang jadi masalahnya ialah tak stroller-friendly. Bumpy ride. Udahlah stroller Adam tu set-set ViVa aje, bukan 4wd!

Perjalanan dari Zoo Melaka ke Renaissance tak begitu lancar. Congested. Nasib baik kami jumpa hotel first try. Kalau sesat time jem macam tu, tak ke haru. Check-in took quite sometime. Orang ramai sangat. Siap jumpa Santa Claus dok distribute gula-gula. While waiting in line, Tebby dukung Adam. Cik Mat senyum menawan tu biasalah meramahkan dia kat orang ramai. Nak tak nak orang pun terpaksa senyum dan tegur dia.

Belah petangnya kami tak ke mana-mana. Just turun swimming pool, or rather waddling pool sebenarnya. Makanya kami semua merasmikanlah swimsuit baru masing-masing. Iman mula-mula takmo pakai swimsuit one-piece dia tu tapi lepas dipujuk-pujuk dia setuju. Cuma dia tak berani nak tenggelamkan badan sampai dada. Sampai pinggang pun dia dah ‘takot’ ‘takot’. Kakak had splashing fun happy time. Punyalah susah nak ‘tangguk’ keluar budak-budak ni. Mula-mula lap Iman. Lepas tu lap Kakak. Bila siap lap Kakak, tengok-tengok Iman dah masuk semula dalam pool.

So far so fun. I hope the rest of our cuti-cuti Melaka is gonna be fun as well.

Excitedly Waiting For Tomorrow

Foto di atas tiada kena mengena dengan entry di bawah. Snap di MACY last weekend. Pejam celik, dah 7++ bulan dah si Adam.

Kakak dah tak sabar. Bila Kakak excited, Iman turut sama excited walaupun saya tak pasti dia
tahu atau tidak apa akan berlaku esok. Esok kami akan pergi holiday. Walaupun cuma ke Melaka, it is something I've or rather we've been waiting for years. Imagine, last kami pegi holiday in 2004, masa tu saya mengandungkan Iman. Sekarang, Adam pun dah lebih 7 bulan. Yes, that long.

Walaupun excited, saya buntu macamana nak penuhkan percutian 3D2N kami tu nanti. Dalam kepala saya cuma teringat Zoo Melaka saja. Nak ke Zoo Melaka ni masuk exit Ayer Keroh kan? We'll be staying in Renaissance Melaka. Ingatkan nak singgah melawat Zoo Melaka sebelum check-in at 2.00pm. Harap-harap esok cuaca dan trafik baik-baik saja. Tolong ye kawan-kawan, cadangkan tempat-tempat yang harus kami lawat. Yang penting mestilah sesuai dengan anak-anak kecik.

In anticipation, semalam menyinggah beli swimsuit satu sorang (termasuk le saya dan abahnya). Adam boleh guna Kakak punya (yang juga pernah jadi harta Iman kemudiannya). Saya, of course cari yang ala-ala muslimah kan. Konon nak ambik saiz S, rupanya masuk saiz M pun muat-muat aje he he. Eh, ni soalan jakun ye. Do we wear undies inside swimsuit? Really, I don't know. Malam ni kena kemas beg. With 3 kids in tow, it's hard to travel light. Haruslah beg ala-ala nak pegi haji tu yang kami bawak nanti. Reta Adam aje dah satu beg. I'm still ding-donging on whether or not to bring Adam's stroller along. Atau bawak carrier saja?

Okay friend, kalau ada masa dan connection, saya akan updet dari Melaka. Doakan semuanya berjalan lancar ya..

Eating Out - SABAK

Urghh... Tebby lewat. Let's not get tense about it. Nak buat retail-therapy, makcik almost pokai. How bout food-theraphy? Gambor pun gambor lahhh...

Remember that I left my kids kat kampung last 2 weeks? Friday, 12th December 2008, en-route to fetch them after work, went to SABAK in Taman Melati. We've been eyeing this eatery for quite sometime and eventually managed to gobbled up in peace. Makan steamboat + grill ditemani oleh hujan lebat di luar sana. How perfect. (I still missed my kids tho).

In my kampung, SABAK means tempat masak-memasak during kenduri kawin. But being a hard-core east-coaster, we pronounce it as SABOK.
Nearest description would be Penanggah (kot?)

Kalau budak2 tu ada, haruslah ada yang masuk berdayung di daratan.
My kids are curious lots okay.

The spread, among others.

From another angle. Isk.. En Tebby sibuk tol ngan penyepit hijau dia tu. Dah interprem gambor makcik. Unlike Seafood Terminal, none of the spread is seasoned.

Pilih pilih pilih. Jangan malu-malu.

Add some oil on the hot pan and grill the food to your liking. It left my tudung smelling chicken liver, prawn and whatnots all the way to Pahang.

Not for the faint-hearted.

I tell u ols. Walaupun rupanya tak menyelerakan, isinya sangat sedap okay. I had like 3-4 servings of these guys.

Walaupun buffet spreadnya sangat murah iaitu RM25 per person, sila kalian lihat harga Nescafe-O yang meruntun jiwa itu. RM2.5o satu mug? Mug kecik ye tuan-puan. Apakah??

Ni addressnya. Kalau terliur, silalah berkunjung ke sana. Boleh juga cuba Rumah Thai. Itu kedai x-ofismet ku. Boleh tahan sedapnya. Satu row aje dengan SABAK ni.

Kan ku dah kata kami suka makan... Sib baik badan makcik ni tak reti menternak lemak (lagi?)

Back From Langkawi (And Broke)

Landed in Langkawi International Airport

I went to Langkawi 16-18 December 2008. Now I am back. And I am broke. I have a huge dent in my pocket. I mean HUUUGGEEEEE. To sum my pocket-denting adventure, suffice to say that I disembarked KLIA with just a backpack and came back with another bags. Beg kembar 3 okay. Tebby gave me pocket money which I spent every cent and I added some from my own provision.

It was a business trip actually. But let's not go there.

Between sessions, we managed to cramped our adventures to Pekan Kuah. I came back with RM200++ worth of chocolates, a set of Corelle, 3 boxes of Queen Anne, some kitchen items from Tefal, a bag of kain pelikat, batik and t shirts. And 2 cute fridge magnets.

The resort where I stayed whipped up goooodddd meals. There was one day they served Udang Masak Lemak, Ayam Kicap with ulam-ulam and sambal-sambal. It was hard to stop eating. That, could compensate the faulty aircond that left me sweating to sleep on the first night there. (The next day the set was replaced with a brand new one. We, officiated the asset, so to speak) During our outings, we had Laksa and scrumptious Nasi Lemak. Sedap dan mahal. The price standard KL okay. People, who were tired from shooping spree swarmed the kiosk and we had to wait for some minutes before getting a table and seats.

Before leaving the resort (very near to scenic Tanjung Malai), I took some photos at nearby beach. It was heavenly to be away from the hustle and bustle of KL. Scenic. It was a saddening experience having to leave my kids behind but Tebby told me I should be enjoying myself, given the chance. Yes right. On the 2nd night I slept the night thru. Siaran langsung terus menerus okay. Sampai lah the alarm went off.

My flight was postponed 2 times. We left Langkawi an hour later that we should. Sempat lagi makcik beli perfume bagai kat Airport. And a bag-ful of sotong kering kiriman En Tebby.

As much as it was good to be in Langkawi, it is good to be back home as well. Chaotic and tiring but I am happy to be back with my family.

Study Area - Contractor Please?

Mak saya komplen. Rumah serabut. Ada rak buku pi kasi kat orang. Habis semua buku kena simpan dalam kotak. Bukan apa, ni tengah mencari-cari kontraktor nak buat study area. Belum dapat lagi. Mulanya dulu plan nak beli aje bookcase from IKEA then essemble sendiri. Pastu plan nak cat and alih wiring sikit, baik cari kontraktor terus. Kalau harapkan kami, alamatnya 5 tahun lagi belum tentu sudah! Mengambil contoh laman kami dulu tu lah. It took us 4 years doing and re-doing the lawn ourselves before we finally gave-up and outsourced it to 3rd party.

Ada sesapa boleh suggest kontraktor, tried-tested-and-proven?
Just to note yang saya suka mengambil approach ala-ala minimalis dan simple.

Saya suka sangat ala-ala kat bawah ni ha... (taken from site IKEA-Hacker)

Happy 7th Month, Adam

Isk.. Ummi lupa.
Semalam Adam genap 7 bulan.

Dengar kata orang kampung, Adam pandai ajak orang bergurau. Kalau meniarap, bila nampak orang lalu lalang, cepat aje dia angkat dada tu tinggi-tinggi. Dan seperti biasa, melemparkan senyuman manis dia tu. Abah kata malam ni kita dapat tengok gusi Adam. Cik Mat ni kalau senyum, memang lebar, sampai nampak gusi tak bergigi dia tu.

Orang kata good thing comes in small packages. This package was not expected for. Tapi dia sangat menghiburkan hati Ummi dan Abah. How can we not love him, kan.

Happy 7th Month Birthday Adam.

ps - Adam kat kampung. Tak boleh nak letak gambar terbaru. Atas tu, Adam on his 4th day.

Honeymoon!

Sebetulnya saya dan suami sedang honeymoon sekarang ni.

Not by choice.
Neither by chance.
Terpaksa.

Anak-anak terpaksa ditinggalkan di kampung. Atfal Sayang ditutup seminggu.

Kakak rela. Memang dia dah lama merengek nak balik kampung. Memang dia begitu, kalau ada cuti panjang aje, nak tinggal dengan Atok dan Wan. Nanti Atok bawak dia round naik moto keliling kampung. Nanti Wan bawak dia pegi kebun kutip cili. Dia suka.

Iman diberitahu banyak kali tapi he acted indifferently. Ye lah, dah dia begitu kan. Tapi tetap saya inform beberapa kali. Cuma waktu saya nak bertolak ke KL, saya cha-alif-but. Kereta dah parking kat luar pagar. Kalau dia tengok saya bertolak nanti, harus dia meraung-raung dan akan menyebabkan saya meraung sama (inside, I did). Dengarnya, lepas 1/2 jam saya berangkat, dia cari saya. Dalam bilik air. Kat balkoni. Kat bawah. Semua dia siasat. 20 minit dia melalak lepas gagal mengesan lokasi saya.

Adam pulak, sebelum saya tinggalkan, dah siap mandi, makan dan minum susu. Rindunya dengan senyuman dia. Kalau dia ada, pagi-pagi sebaik bangun tidur, mesti dia senyum. Dengarnya, baby saya yang sorang ni menangis-nangis tengah malam mencari Umminya. Disuap susu botol, dia nyonyot aje. Bila dah habis, sambung nangis. Manakan tidak, hampir 7 bulan tidur bawah ketiak Ummi, tiba-tiba Ummi takde. Nasib baik cuma satu malam saja. Malam-malam berikutnya, dia tidur lena.

Rindunya. Kalau diorang ada, mesti dengar aje kecoh-kecoh berebut channel TV Kakak dengan Iman. Mesti dengar suara Iman mengomel sebab Adam cubit kaki dia. Mesti sibuk kami kejar Adam dari menyelinap kat ceruk-ceruk sofa.

Tapi.. tapi...

Kesempatan yang ada jangan disia-siakan. Inilah masa nak berdua-duaan. Nak berdating bagai. Nak pegi makan kat luar sama-sama without having to take turn to eat. Call us opportunist in this case, memang pun.

Mula-mula sekali, sesampainya kami di KL, pegi menyerang Seafood Terminal di Hulu Klang. Dulunya di Kampung Pandan. Last kami pegi hampir 6 tahun lepas. Masa tu Kakak tak pandai berjalan lagi. Dah lama kami berangan nak pegi tapi keadaan tak sesuai. Lokasinya dekat Club House, ada swimming pool. Konsepnya pulak 3-in-1 - Grill, Steam and Boil. Bahaya dengan anak-anak seperti anak-anak saya. Alkisahnya masa kami pegi tu, cuma kami berdua saja customernya. Mungkin lokasi berhampiran dengan Bukit Antarabangsa yang buat orang ter put-off nak ke situ.

Hari Selasa lepas kerja, kami ke MidValley. Misinya mencari barang-barang sekolah Kakak. Tak banyak sebab nak top-up apa-apa yang patut aje. Diam tak diam berjalan, pukul 9.00mlm baru kami dinner. Lepas scouting around, kami makan di La Manila. Tebby can be very-very choosy about eating. Selalunya dia suruh saya pilih, last-last dia decide sebab asik tak berkenan dengan pilihan saya.

Semalam pulak, nasib tak baik. Plan saya nak shopping barang-barang keperluan peribadi. Akibat berlengah-lengah kat ofis, pukul 5.50ptg gitu, GM mintak hadir sama meeting pada pukul 6.00ptg. Makanya meeting habis pukul 8.00mlm. Solat Isyak dulu. Lepas tu kami berdating ke Kampung Baru. Hajat dihati nak makan Nasi Bubur. Lepas berpusing-pusing cari parking kosong, tup-tup kedai tu tutup lah pulak. Last-last singgah kedai lain. Pukul 10.00mlm baru dapat makanan yang kami order. Sampai rumah pukul 11.00mlm.

Anyway.

Masa balik kampung ari tu, kami bawak Iman pegi Pekan Sehari di Temerloh. Orang Temerloh panggil 'Pekan Sari'. Sedari kecik lagi saya mengunjungi Pekan Sari ni. Lokasinya betul-betul di tepi Sungai Pahang. Iman pulak excited nak tengok sungai. Diheretnya saya ke tambatan (tempat bot mendarat. kan dulu perahu kena tambat. walaupun sekarang dah tak tambat, nama tu melekat. cam kita lah, dulu orang panggil comel sebab kita comel masa kecik-kecik. sampai tua orang tetap panggil comel walaupun dah tak comel he he). Alang-alang dah sampai kat tepi tu, baiklah saya snap gambor sikit. Sayang cuaca mendung sikit.

Esok balik kampung. Ambil anak-anak. Walaupun ini bermakna honeymoon kami tamat, it is something we look forward to.

Adam - Bronchiolitis Episode

22nd - 25th November 2008.
Adam was 6 months and 11 days old on 22nd November 2008.

Brought him to APSH for pnuemoccoccal jab. Instead of the jab, kena tahan masuk ward sebab 'bronchiolitis'. He was coughing phlegm that time. He had on-off light fever now and then. Tapi dia tetap menten tersenyum memanjang.

Single rooms were fully occupied that time. Ada double bedded but knowing my other kids and how nuisance they can be, I did not opt for that. Furthermore Adam needed not for IV. Just medications and nebuliser so we went back home after booking a deluxe single. At that point, the person occupying the room has been discharged but he/she was still there. Clearance of GL and insurance always take sometime kan so it explained lah why we finally were called by APSH to 'check-in', only at 4pm. That was like 6 hours after admission.

So, there we were, me, Tebby and Adam and another 2 kids in tow, spending a 4d3n in APSH. Lazing around watching TV and eating free meals.

Adam had a blood test done on him and obviously he had some kind of infection. He was prescribed with Cedax (antibiotik), Singulair and another medication which I can't recall what the name was. Apart from that, he underwent physion sessions as well as suction. Having gone through that many many times with Kakak and Iman, we were, well... a bit relaxed this time around. I mean I can still hold Adam for suction without shedding a single tear. Adam, of course, cried his lung out! After the whole traumatic session, he'd, without fail, only stopped crying when I held him close.

Adam was discharged on Tuesday 25th November 2008. Among my 3 kids, Adam paling awal kena warded. The first time when he was barely 6 hours-old. In fact he went into ICU and later was put in incubator and warmer. The bronchiolitis episode was his 2nd, when he was 6 months and 11 days old.

He's now doing well. He finally managed to figure out how to use his little feet and hands to move forward. He has started raising his bum and be on all fours but still doesn't has the gut to crawl.

Well, that was one of the things that had happened during my blog silence.

Mat Sengih.. manjang senyum dia nih

Physio session. Melalak2 kena debik.

Pelakon tambahan yang lagi kecoh dari Adam :P

Baby Food

I am a strong believer of 'air tangan' concept

Tagged by Limaunipis - My Cubicle

Hi people. This is where I work, among the places.

I moved here (to this building, along with the rest of the department) in September 2007. I was at my early stage of pregnancy. I couldn't stand the smell of new furniture and new carpet. I hated the red wall.

I used to use a desktop but since I am entittled for a laptop, apa lagi lah kan. Terus aje ku tukarkan desktop dengan laptop.

See that bakul kat belakang tu? There's my food provision. Bakul tu pulak hamper ehsan GM sedekah kat anak buah.

Ku takde cermin cam Limaunipis. Kalau nak menempel2 bedak, tengok cermin kat kotak bedak aje.

Tagged By CikWawi

Tagged by CikWawi. I 'met' her virtually in a forum discussing about breastfeeding. So I am sharing some facts here...

* One in eight women or 12.6% of all women will get breast cancer in her lifetime. * Breast cancer risk increases with age and every woman is at risk.
* Every 13 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer.
* Seventy-seven percent of women with breast cancer are over 50.
* Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in women between the ages of 15 and 54, and the second cause of cancer death in women 55 to 74.
* Risks for breast cancer include a family history, atypical hyperplasia, early menstruation (before age 12), late menopause (after age 55), current use or use in the last ten years of oral contraceptives, and daily consumption of alcohol.
* Early detection of breast cancer, through monthly breast self-exam and particularly yearly mammography after age 40, offers the best chance for survival.

Above facts taken from Women’s Health Organisation Forum.
